Diagnostic algorithm including 18F-FDG PET. In existing diagnostic algorithm, nodules with inconclusive cytologic diagnosis must be removed, and hemithyroidectomy is necessary to allow reliable histologic diagnosis. In proposed diagnostic algorithm, 18F-FDG PET is implemented as shown.
