    (A) Number of lesions on 123I-MIBG planar and SPECT/CT scans was compared with number of lesions on 124I-MIBG PET scans, among all 8 patients, and the difference was found to be statistically significant. (B) Curie score comparison between 123I-MIBG planar, SPECT/CT, and 124I-MIBG PET scans demonstrated higher overall curie scores on PET imaging for 6 scans.

    Planar anterior (left) and posterior (right) 123I-MIBG planar images are compared with 124I-MIBG PET/CT 3-dimensional volume-rendered and cross-sectional superimposed images of same patient. Lesions within chest, extremities, spine, and head and neck were better detected on planar images. Lesions within chest, upper arms, and head were better detected on PET/CT images.
