Biochemical concept and synthesis of a radioiodinated phenylfatty acid for in vivo metabolic studies of the myocardium

Eur J Nucl Med. 1980 Apr;5(2):171-3. doi: 10.1007/BF00252480.

Abstract

A biochemical concept is proposed for a radioiodinated fatty acid avoiding high iodine background in imaging studies of the myocardium. For this approach omega-(p-123I phenyl)-pentadecanoic acid is chosen and a method for synthesis and quality control described.
