Paragangliomas of the head and neck

Otolaryngol Clin North Am. 1986 Nov;19(4):755-67.

Abstract

Nonchromaffin paragangliomas of the head and neck are usually benign, slow-growing lesions arising from neural crest tissue. Although uncommon, these neoplasms should always be considered in the differential diagnosis of a neck mass. The diagnostic and therapeutic challenges posed by these lesions require continued clinical attention.
