    The results of our study also suggest that patients with lower baseline perfusion defects may have a higher likelihood to respond to intracoronary stem cell therapy. Consistently with previous studies, we found that myocardial perfusion defects are common in patients with DCM and most commonly distributed in the LAD territory.11–19 Studies using positron-emission tomographic (PET) scanning have shown that up to 82% of patients with DCM show reduced myocardial blood flow, both at rest and during metabolic and pharmacologic vasodilation.20
