Effects of late exercise on cardiac remodeling and myocardial calcium handling proteins in rats with moderate and large size myocardial infarction
2016, International Journal of CardiologyCitation Excerpt :However, variation in after and before exercise protocol fractional area change (∆ FAC) was significantly different between Mod MI-Ex and Mod MI-Sed; it was increased in Mod MI-Ex and decreased in Mod IM-Sed at the end of experiment. As left ventricular contraction asynchronism occurs in MI, fractional area change is considered the best indicator of systolic ventricular performance in this experimental model [30]. Therefore, aerobic exercise prevented systolic function impairment in rats with moderate size MI.
Mesenchymal stem cells overexpressing Akt dramatically repair infarcted myocardium and improve cardiac function despite infrequent cellular fusion or differentiation
2006, Molecular TherapyCitation Excerpt :Conscious mice were imaged with a 15-MHz probe used at a depth setting of 2 cm with zoom, connected to a Hewlett Packard SONOS 5500 echocardiographic system. Data were analyzed using digitized pictures of the long axis views [33]. Student's t test was used for two-group comparison, and ANOVA followed by an unpaired Student t test with Bonferroni's correction was used for multiple group comparisons.
