[4] monitored dogs with myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) using 24 h Holter and electrocardiogram and found supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias in 50% and 57% of asymptomatic dogs, and in 72% and 86% of symptomatic dogs, respectively, demonstrating that arrhythmias are common in MMVD. It is known that SCD and electrical instability in congestive heart failure (CHF) may be related to increased dispersion of ventricular repolarization (DR) [5] through abnormalities in ionic channel currents [6]. Several electrocardiographic (ECG) markers of ventricular repolarization have been proposed as risk indicators in a variety of clinical contexts, including QT interval [7], QT interval corrected by heart rate (HR) (QTc) [8], and QT dispersion (QTd) [9].
