Methods: PET scans were obtained in 8 healthy volunteers being evaluated for brain perfusion and ASL scans on integrated simultaneous PET-MR (GE Healthcare). Data on the first-pass of 18F-FDG and ASL sequence was reconstructed by Advantage Workstation (GE Healthcare). The mothed of image-derived arterial input(IDIF) was used to get the arterial input function from dynamic 18F-FDG PET. Regions of interest (ROIs) were drawn on the both sides of frontal lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe and occipital lobe on the PET and CBF image with the same location, CBF value was quantified. SPSS 19 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: All subjects displayed no lesion in MR images , and symmetric characteristics in 18F-FDG PET and ASL CBF. A representative subject was displayed in Fig.1, and the subject has no focus in MR structural images and 18F-FDG or ASL images for the symmetric features. The mean measured CBF of PET-IDIF and ASL were 38.60±7.57 and 53.21±8.79 mL/100 g per minute. Blood flow estimated from the early uptake of 18F-FDG was linearly correlated with ASL-measured blood flow, with an intercept of 0.01, a slope of 0.7737, and an R2 regression coefficient of 0.3526 (Fig.2). Conclusions: The results indicate good synergy and consistency from 18F-PET and MR-ASL in integrated simultaneous PET/MR. We further demonstrated quantitative 18F-FDG imaging can be successfully implemented on a PET/MR hybrid scanner in human. There was a significant correlation between the 18F-FDG PET-IDIF and ASL sequence.
