Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analyses were unremarkable, but an 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) showed limbic and extra-limbic hypermetabolism. A full recovery, alongside FDG normalization in previously hypermetabolic areas, was observed after intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) administration.
