Methods: This was a prospective study. Sixty one samples were obtained including the control sample, each was around 18.5 megabecquerel. All Samples were tested for radiochemical purity before and after temperature change and the results were analyzed using a two sample, paired t-test. Samples were divided into four groups of 15 samples. The first group was heated in a 49 C° bath for 15 minutes, the second group was frozen for 15 minutes, the Third group was heated in a 49 C° bath for 90 minutes, and the fourth group was frozen for 90 minutes. After all samples thawed to room temperature, they were tested for radiochemical purity using saline and silica gel strips. The control sample was tested four times with each group. Results: The control sample had an average radiochemical purity of 98.9% for the four times it was tested. All four groups had an average of 99% radiochemical purity, with a p-value of 0.2 indicating that no changes had occurred in the radiochemical purity of all samples after temperature changes. Conclusions: Temperature changes do not affect the radiochemical purity of Tc99m-MAA.
