Introduction: To observe the effect of phosphorus-32 application combined with 595nm pulsed dye laser in the treatment of superficial strawberry hemangioma in infants and young children.
Methods: Divide a total of 210 infants and young children with superficial strawberry hemangioma randomly into a group of 98 cases with simple phosphorus-32 application and another group of 112 cases with phosphorus-32 application combined with 595nm pulsed dye laser. The phosphorus-32 applicator is made according to Qiliang Zhang's ‘Applied Treatment of Nuclear Medicine'. In the simple phosphorus-32 application group, one application is a course of treatment. In the combination group: Use phosphorus-32 applicator to apply once, and use 595nm pulsed dye laser treatment two months later, which is a course of treatment. Laser treatment parameters is 7mm-spot, 6.5-9.0J-energy and a pulse width of 1.5-3ms. The treatment period is 8 months in both groups, and the follow-up period is half a year after treatment. We observe the cure rate and the rate of local hyperpigmentation (depigmentation + hyperpigmentation) of the lesion in the two groups.
Results: The cure rate of the phosphorus-32 simple group was 96.9%, and the cure rate of the combined group was 98.2%. The data showed that there was no significant difference in the cure rate between the two groups. But the pigment aberration rate was 36.7% in the phosphorus-32 simple group and 12.5% in the combined group. The difference is obvious and statistically significant (P<0.01). 2 cases in the combined group were lost to follow-up, and 3 cases in the simple group were treated with telangiectasia after three applications.
Conclusions: There is no significant difference in the cure rate between the simple group and the combined group. However, the rate of pigment aberrations in the combined group is significantly lower than that of the simple group. It is worth recommending in clinical work.
