Recently, the 2017 Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate Analytics) was released. According to the data, JNM ranked 5th among 128 journals in its category, with a Journal Impact Factor increase from 6.646 in 2016 to 7.439 in 2017. Citations to JNM also continue to grow, with an increase from 24,977 to 27,101. JNM’s 5-year Journal Impact Factor is now 6.893, and its Article Influence Score increased to 1.85. Because this score reflects citations in 2017 to articles published in 2015 and 2016, during the tenure of the immediate past Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Dominique Delbeke, all the credit goes to her and her team of associate editors.
We are grateful for Dr. Delbeke’s contributions, and we embrace this success as motivation to further increase the quality and impact of the SNMMI flagship journal. We will continue to publish only those manuscripts of the highest quality from all aspects of the basic, translational, and clinical sciences. JNM will also continue to publish its “Hot Topics,” “State of the Art,” “Focus on Molecular Imaging,” and “Issues and Controversies” series to provide information that is highly relevant to specialists in nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, and theranostics, as well as to readers from other disciplines.
My sincere gratitude is extended to the JNM staff, reviewers, editorial board, and current team of associate editors, as well as to researchers from around the globe, for their tireless efforts to make JNM a priority by publishing work that creates a significant impact within the academic community. Below are the top 5 journals and their Journal Impact Factors, as well as their total number of citations.
