SNM Journals Online SUBSCRIBER HELP & SERVICES:
Frequently Asked Questions
about Individual (Non-Member) Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

When you complete the subscription activation process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?

We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription activation process.

  3. Why should I get an Individual (Non-Member) Subscription?

Individual (Non-Member) Subscribers have access to:
Tables of contents, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, and the advantage of having password access to SNM Journals Online from any computer connected to the Internet.
[Ordering Procedure] [Cost] [ SNM Membership ]

Without a subscription you have access to tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching at no cost and without having to register.

  4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

If your institution has a subscription, it is automatically eligible to have an electronic version of the journal as well. In so doing, you will automatically have access to the tables of contents, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, and Medline and GenBank links. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

If your institution does not have a subscription, it cannot get an electronic version of JNM or JNMT Online. If you would like to have an Institutional Subscription, please contact your local librarian.

  5. Will I still be able to get the print version? And for how long?

Yes. Individuals and institutions will continue to receive the print version for the foreseeable future. At some time, the print and electronic versions may be available as separate subscriptions.

  6. Who is eligible for an Individual (Non-Member) and a Member Subscription?

Individual (Non-Member) subscriptions are available to any interested individuals, providing them with a print and electronic version of the journal. Members and Non-Members may also have access to SNM Journals Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member or Individual Subscriptions. Full-text access from off of the institution's network (e.g. home access) is not available.

  7. How can I access JNM or JNMT Online if I am not an SNM member and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

You may wish to apply for SNM membership or you may wish to purchase an Individual (Non-Member) Subscription, which provides a print subscription and access to the electronic version. Without a subscription you have access to tables of contents, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.

  8. How do I become a member of SNM?

Information about SNM Membership and application forms are available from SNM.
