(B) Appearance of such artifact (arrow) in clinical SPECT image, transverse image from ^99mTc-sulfur colloid liver–spleen study. (C) In contrast to A, this is acceptable transverse SPECT image through ^99mTc-filled cylinder phantom. No perceptible ring, or bull's-eye, artifact is demonstrated; IU at time of this acquisition, 2%, was well within tolerance. In cylinder phantom images, A and B, analytic postprocessing attenuation correction was applied.
