FIGURE 3. Planar images acquired 5 h (A) and 24 h (B) after 123I administration and 7 d after 131I therapy (C) in patient with known pulmonary metastases who was scheduled to undergo thyroid remnant ablation. Five-hour and 24-h scans reveal bilateral pulmonary metastases (more clearly defined on posterior views than on anterior views), which appear more extensive and distinct on 24-h images than on 5-h images. Findings are confirmed by scan obtained 7 d after 131I therapy.
