ABSTRACT
We have performed a controlled study of the T-3 resin uptake test in which we compared the standard method of room-temperature incubation with a modified technique using ice-water incubation. Results show that the ice-bath method is clearly more reproducible, resulting in improved reliability and therefore better diagnostic accuracy. For this reason, we recommend the ice-bath method as the procedure of choice for routine use.
