ABSTRACT
An oxidized inulin derivative has been labeled with chromium-51. This product can be heat sterilized and is stable in vitro as well as in vivo. Simultaneous glomerular filtration rate determination in one dog, using stable inulin and 51Cr-labeled inulin, gave similar results. External monitoring of 51Cr-labeled inulin from the kidneys, other organs and tissues showed a constant rate of disappearance after 40 minutes. Chromium-51 labeled inulin may lend itself also for renograms and renal scans.
