ABSTRACT
Normal resin impregnated sponge T-3 uptake studies have been carried out in two mammalian species. Duplicate samples from 57 sheep (Ovis aries) had a mean value of 29.7 per cent ± 3.7 per cent (SD) and a standard error of the mean of .5 per cent. Eighty-five duplicate determinations in human subjects revealed a mean uptake value of 29.4 per cent ± 3.2 per cent (SD) with SE 2 per cent. The authors suggest this finding as an additional parameter enhancing the value of Ovis aries in an interspecies correlation of the biological effects of ionizing radiation.
