ABSTRACT

Moderate lung uptake of 99mTc-sulfur colloid was observed in a patient on hourly antacids who was found to have an elevated plasma aluminum level. A repeat scan 5 days after discontinuing antacids when the patient had only a slight increase in plasma aluminum level revealed minimal uptake in the lungs.
