ABSTRACT
Studies were performed in rats and patients with breast cancer to evaluate tissue binding of an enzyme inhibitor, isoxazole, which had been shown to accumulate in rat adrenals. The findings of persistent retention of the inhibitor in the rat adrenal were confirmed, but retention of the inhibitor in cancer tissue was not shown, although the specific enzymes had been present in breast cancer in one reported instance. An unexpected observation was the high concentration of the inhibitor in fat, possibly analogous to that of estrogens.
