ABSTRACT
In a patient with metastatic lesion in the liver from, a primary carcinoma in the colon, a 87mSr whole-body scan revealed excessive accumulation of isotope within the liver lesion. This uptake of 87mSr in the liver metastasis cannot be attributed to increased vascularity of the tumor as evidenced from the absence of activity in the 113mIn-transferrin scan. The possibility of specific tumor uptake of 87mSr (as with gallium) has to be kept in mind.
