ABSTRACT

The cardiac output and renal blood flow were determined consecutively in 87 subjects by means of external monitoring of radioiodinated human serum albumin and radio-Hippuran, respectively.

The advantages of this technique as well as its application for the bedside examination of cardiac output and renal blood flow in severely ill patients are presented. In addition, repeated determinations could be performed at frequent intervals. These findings made it possible to study the course of patients after cardiac surgery as well as those suffering from myocardial infarction.
