ABSTRACT
The physical advantages of 99mTc can be used for lung scanning with this new compound, 99mTc-Fe(OH)3-MA, which is easily and rapidly prepared. There is about 85% uptake of 99mTc in the lungs with insignificant uptake in other organs. The high photon yield and low radiation dose permits lung scans to be performed in a few minutes and dynamic blood-flow studies are possible with the scintillation camera using 23-sec exposures.
